By Mary-Jane Onuorah (NSSPF National Volunteer Coordinator)

The Nigerian Student Society Presidents’ Forum UK (NSSPF UK) continued its dynamic series of Friday Night Check-in Calls on June 20, 2025, with an engaging session facilitated by Mustapha, that blended lively camaraderie with crucial insights into navigating the digital world. This week, the spotlight was firmly on personal branding and cultivating an impactful professional presence on social media

Setting the Vibe: Music, Greetings, and Connection

The evening began, as many NSSPF gatherings do, with casual greetings and a vibrant virtual music session, setting a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. This informal start quickly transitioned into a focused discussion, demonstrating NSSPF’s ability to combine social connection with valuable learning.

Crafting Your Digital Identity: The Power of Personal Branding

The core of the discussion centered on the vital topic of personal branding and professional presence on social media platforms. Mustapha, a key contributor, shared invaluable experiences and insights, drawing from his journey of building a distinct voice while skillfully navigating multiple roles and communities.

He passionately emphasized the paramount importance of authenticity in the digital space. In an era where online personas can often feel superficial, Mustapha’s message resonated: genuine engagement and true representation are key to building a credible and influential online presence. He also highlighted the critical role of community involvement in shaping one’s brand, showcasing how active participation and contribution within various groups can amplify one’s voice and reach.

Building Bridges: New Members, Collaborations & Future Horizons

The conversation naturally broadened to embrace the growth and future of the NSSPF community. Discussions included warmly welcoming new members into the fold, ensuring they feel integrated and supported. Ideas for potential collaborations were also explored, hinting at exciting inter-organizational projects on the horizon.

Looking ahead, participants discussed upcoming programs and engagements, with mention of various organizational leaders getting involved. This proactive planning underscores NSSPF’s commitment to continuous development and providing valuable opportunities for its members.
