Level Up Your Career: A Recap of the NSSPF’s August 2025 Tech Check-in
By Mary-Jane Onuorah (NSSPF National Volunteer Coordinator)
A Night of Insights, Skills, and Digital Growth for the Nigerian Student Community
On Friday, August 15th, the Nigerian Student Society Presidents’ Forum (NSSPF) UK hosted its weekly Zoom check-in, but this wasn’t just a casual call. It was a deep dive into the tech skills that are no longer “nice-to-haves” but are crucial for navigating today’s job market. From essential software to future partnerships, the session was packed with valuable insights designed to empower the community.
The evening kicked off with a powerful presentation that cut straight to the heart of a modern professional’s dilemma: what are the must-have tech tools for success? The speaker outlined a range of essential applications, emphasizing that proficiency in these tools is a universal language that translates across industries—whether you’re in healthcare, finance, or creative arts. The message was clear: a strong digital toolkit is your key to standing out.
The conversation quickly moved from theory to practice. Attendees learned about a potential collaboration with a leading fintech company, a partnership that could open new doors for student members. The discussion then highlighted specific tech tools that are transforming various fields. From dynamic project management platforms that keep teams on track, to advanced investigation tools for data integrity, to powerful data analytics software for extracting meaningful insights, the session showcased how technology is streamlining work and boosting productivity.
But the meeting wasn’t just about the technology itself; it was about the people behind it. The facilitators demonstrated interactive audience feedback tools, creating a dynamic and engaging environment where every participant’s voice was heard. This focus on engagement carried into the final segment, which centered on professional development. There were valuable tips on how to optimize LinkedIn profiles to attract recruiters and an overview of exciting upcoming events and partnerships that will continue to support the NSSPF community’s growth.
The August 15th check-in was a powerful reminder that the NSSPF is more than a forum for presidents—it’s a hub for professional and personal development. The session left members inspired and equipped with the knowledge needed to advance their careers in an increasingly digital world.
